Programs
Kumon’s self-paced worksheet method is designed to build confidence and a strong academic foundation over time, with individualized instruction for each student. Developed by Japanese educator Toru Kumon, the method centres on self-learning: children learn to tackle problems independently and become enthusiastic, independent thinkers rather than relying on a tutor. Reading work emphasizes phonics and real comprehension beyond summaries; math work builds mental calculation so abstract concepts become concrete.
How It Works
Every child starts with an assessment of their current language and calculation skills, approach and attitude, and the instructors then create an individualized study plan with goals to work toward through weekly classes. Classes run year-round in a small, distraction-free setting at the plaza — convenient for parents, who can run errands while their child works — and virtual classes are available for families who cannot make it in regularly, with worksheets completed on paper or a tablet. Whether the aim is remedial help, higher grades, less homework stress or simply a stronger foundation, an appointment with the centre is the place to begin.
